In this guide, we’ll walk you through what CSV mapping is, why it matters, and how to use it correctly while creating your campaign.

What Is CSV Mapping?

CSV Mapping is a crucial step that appears right after you upload your CSV file while setting up a campaign. This feature ensures that each column from your CSV correctly matches the corresponding field inside the campaign.

Think of it as double-checking your labels so that the system knows exactly where each piece of information belongs.

Why Is CSV Mapping Important?

If the fields in your CSV don’t match the platform fields, it can lead to:

  • Wrong emails being sent to wrong contacts

  • Incorrect personalization

  • Misaligned data inside campaigns

  • Errors in outreach sequences

For example, if “Email” from your CSV is accidentally mapped to “Company Name” inside the platform, your entire campaign can break.

Accurate mapping = accurate messaging = better results.

How to Use the CSV Mapping Feature

Once you upload your CSV file, you’ll see the CSV Mapping Page. This is where you need to carefully match each header.

Here’s how to do it correctly:

Step 1: Match Basic Contact Fields

Make sure these fields are mapped exactly:

  • Email → Email

  • Company → Company Name

  • Industry → Industry

  • Job Title → Job Title

  • First Name → First Name

  • Last Name → Last Name

  • Corporate Phone → Corporate Phone

  • City → City

  • Country → Country

  • Address → Address

Everything should align perfectly with the headers shown on the screen.

Step 2: Correct LinkedIn & Website Mapping

This is where most users make mistakes—so pay special attention:

  • If your CSV contains Person’s LinkedIn URL, select the field manually from the drop-down (e.g., LinkedIn URL).

  • If your CSV contains Company Website, map it to Company Website.

  • If your CSV contains Company LinkedIn URL, change it manually to Company LinkedIn URL.

The system may suggest a default option, but you must check and adjust it.

Step 3: Double-Check Everything Before Proceeding

Once all fields are mapped:

  • Re-verify each header

  • Ensure nothing is mismatched

  • Confirm there are no blank or wrongly auto-selected fields

A few extra seconds of checking here can save you from campaign errors later.

Step 4: Activate Your Campaign

After confirming the mapping, continue with the remaining steps as usual and activate your campaign.

Once activated:

  • All information will align correctly

  • Personalization tags will work properly

  • Your outreach will be accurate and professional

If any mapping is missed or done incorrectly, the data inside your campaign will not match the intended fields—so don’t skip the checking step!

Final Thoughts

The new CSV Mapping feature ensures your campaigns are clean, accurate, and high-performing. By mapping your data correctly before launching, you’ll avoid errors and deliver precise, personalized messaging to your audience.
